FSFOR wishes to thank Shoreham Airport
and the Rescue & Firefighting Service for
their assistance with storage for the three
vehicles that have now left the UK.

All three vehicles in the February 2008
convoy are Boughton bodied Dennis fire
engines, the earliest of which is G264 VBP.

   

2nd January 2008

Four former West Sussex Fire & Rescue
Service Dennis fire appliances start the
long journey from Sussex to Kursk.

Complete with ladders, portable pumps
and generators, the shipment also
included 1000 pairs of almost new fire
boots, 450 sets of personal protective
clothing, 80 fire helmets, 125 chemical
protection suits, 25 gas protection suits,
resuscitation equipment, radiation meters
and assorted vehicle spares

Having cleared customs at St Petersburg,
the convoy of Dennis trucks starts the
long overland journey to the City of Kursk

Journey's end for our first convoy.
 Each Dennis is carefully reversed into
one of  the bays of a number of fire stations
across the City of Kursk
